About Me

Hello!

My name is Kelli. This will be a quickie bio, as I'm currently in the process of setting up the blog - I'll make it loads better later, when I'm not so worried about mechanics!

For two years now, I've been working on a Fulbright project, to study childhood ADHD using neuroimaging (specifically functional magnetic resonance imaging, fMRI). ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Kiddos with ADHD tend to be hyperactive, impulsive, and inattentive. I'm sure you're imagining a little bundle of joy as you read this. We all know kids with ADHD. I'm on a mission to make sure that the diagnoses of ADHD we make are based on sound scientific knowledge, and that the treatments we offer for children with ADHD are likewise research-based.

I ended up being rejected from the nine graduate programs I applied to, yet winning the Fulbright, which is ironic and excellent at the same time. I am very happy that I have something useful to do with myself for the next year.

I am working in the city of Utrecht, and I look forward to many months of biking, baking, bread and cheese-eating, and excellent research. To my year in the Netherlands!
